Job summary

Transaction Recruitment Ltd. is working with a large Erdington-based services business to appoint a Management Accountant. You will own the monthly management accounts, deliver accurate figures within tight deadlines and help shape and improve processes as the finance function modernises.

You’ll work under a supportive manager and pursue ACCA/CIMA progression, with exposure to MI development, balance sheet controls, and cross-team collaboration to drive business performance.

Qualifications

• ownership of end-to-end management accounts is essential.
• Experience closing month-ends across multiple entities desirable.
• ACCA/CIMA qualifications or current study encouraged.
• Strong Excel skills and solid balance sheet reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Taking full ownership of the monthly management accounts and timely reporting.
• Building period-end schedules, reconciliations and analysis for the close.
• Translating results into clear commentary for stakeholders.
• Investigating variances and liaising with teams to explain movements.
• Maintaining tight balance sheet controls and supporting all balances.
• Shaping management information as reporting needs evolve.
• Providing ad hoc financial analysis as required.
• Overseeing fixed asset register and related entries.
• Managing company credit card and staff expenses with robust controls.
• Providing financial input for contract renewals and utility billing.
• Supporting VAT returns and working with external auditors.
