Job summary

Freightliner Ltd in Birmingham is seeking a Management Accountant on a full-time permanent basis to support timely and accurate financial reporting for Intermodal. You will prepare month-end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and overhead reporting while ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Working with the Finance Business Partner, you will analyse variances, help with forecasting and budgeting, drive process improvements, and provide robust financial insight to budget holders.

Qualifications

• Part Qualified Accountant at Final stage (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with 2+ years' experience.
• Experience in management accounting, leases, fixed assets and payroll.
• Strong data handling and Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month-end journals and accruals for indirect costs.
• Prepare month-end balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support workload planning to meet deadlines.
• Analyse cost trends and provide commentary for packs.
• Assist with intermodal controls and process improvements.
• Support audits and ensure governance.
• Assist system upgrades and automation in month-end reporting.
• Prepare monthly performance reviews with budget holders.
• Collaborate with finance and business to understand cost drivers.
• Follow HS&E procedures.
