Job summary

Freightliner is a leading UK intermodal logistics provider offering rail, road and terminal solutions across the UK. The Management Accountant will deliver accurate monthly management accounts, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, supporting forecast and budgeting processes with strong internal controls.

Working closely with the Finance Business Partner and wider finance team, you will analyse variances, drive process improvements and ensure reporting accuracy.

Qualifications

• Part Qualified Accountant at the final stage with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• Experience in management accounting analysis, lease, fixed assets and payroll preferred.
• Ability to influence stakeholders with financial insight.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post month end journals and accruals, including indirect costs.
• Produce robust month end balance sheet reconciliations and resolve items.
• Support workload planning to ensure timely deliverables.
• Review cost trends and variances with insightful commentary for monthly packs.
• Assist with Intermodal controls framework and drive improvements.
• Provide audit support and respond to queries to strengthen readiness.
• Assist transformation initiatives to improve processes and data quality.
• Support system upgrades and governance ensuring control integrity.
• Partner with the Finance Business Partner for monthly performance reviews.
