Job summary

Transaction Recruitment is recruiting a Management and Reporting Accountant in Birmingham City Centre to sit at the heart of the finance function. You will produce timely management accounts, provide commentary, perform month-end close, and deliver commercial insight to shape decisions across the business.

The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with strong Excel skills and experience in balance sheet reconciliations, budgeting, forecasting, and partnering with non-finance

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified
• Experience producing management accounts and month-end reporting
• Strong Excel skills and confidence with financial systems
• Commercial mindset translating numbers into insight
• Excellent communication with non-finance stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts with commentary and variance analysis
• Lead month-end close including journals, accruals and prepayments
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Prepare departmental and group reporting packs for senior stakeholders
• Support budgeting and forecasting with department heads
• Assist cash flow forecasting and working capital monitoring
• Provide clear financial insight to support business decisions
• Coordinate year-end process and liaise with external auditors
• Review and strengthen internal controls and reporting processes
• Build strong cross-functional relationships with non-finance teams
