Job summary

Kenton Black is seeking a Management Accountant for a Preston-based business with 20+ years of operation. The role offers a friendly team of five accounts staff, a 35-hour week, and hybrid working. You will support all financial operations and contribute to process improvements within a hands-on environment.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will manage P&L and balance sheet tasks, assist with budgeting and year-end processes, and provide ad hoc financial analyses to aid decision making.

Qualifications

• Hands-on management accounting experience preferred in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience producing management accounts packs (P&L, balance sheet, commentary, analysis).
• Strong communication and ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Produce management accounts pack including P&L, balance sheet, commentary and analysis.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and post journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Assist budget preparation and year-end reporting, statutory reporting and audit.

A newly created Management Accountant position has become available within a Preston based business which has been operating for 20+ years. The new Management Accountant will work within a friendly team of 5 accounts staff in a varied and hands on position supporting with all financial operations for the business.

Your New Role as Management Accountant

Reporting to the Head of Finance, as Management Accountant duties will include:

• Production of the management accounts pack including P&L, balance sheet, commentary and analysis
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
• Assist in budget preparation
• Assist with year end reporting, statutory reporting and audit
• Support in driving process improvements and efficiencies
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reports to support effective decision making
• Support with purchase ledger as required

Experience & Qualifications Required to Apply

The successful candidate will be established in a similar hands on management accounting remit and be comfortable in providing transactional accounting support as required. Experience of working in a fast-paced and high volume environment is desirable with a forward thinking approach. Additionally, strong communication skills are required with the ability to work cross-functionally to partner with various internal stakeholders.
