Job summary

Axon Moore is seeking a commercially minded Management Accountant in Blackburn. You will report to the Finance Director and own a broad set of financial and commercial accounting responsibilities, with scope to influence how the business operates and grows.

You will partner with the leadership team, produce monthly management accounts, provide insightful analysis, and drive budgeting, forecasting and performance improvements. The role offers growth toward a future Finance Director position.

Qualifications

• Strong management accounting experience.
• Ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Proactive approach and confidence to challenge and influence.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Provide meaningful analysis and commentary to support business decisions.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on budgets, forecasts and business planning.
• Develop commercial reporting, KPIs and financial analysis.
• Support pricing, profitability and margin analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and processes.
• Own cash flow, working capital and key financial metrics.
• Improve systems, controls and processes as the business grows.
• Support and develop the finance function with potential to lead a team.
• Act as a trusted finance partner across the business.
• Work with the FD on strategic projects and shaping the finance function.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and ambitious business at a key stage of its development. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll take on a broad, hands on role across both financial and commercial finance, with real scope to influence how the business operates and grows.

The Role

You’ll work closely with the Finance Director and wider leadership team, taking responsibility for a broad range of finance activities while increasingly becoming a key commercial partner to the business.

• Producing accurate and insightful monthly management accounts and financial reporting.
• Providing meaningful analysis and commentary to support business decisions.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders on budgets, forecasts and business planning.
• Developing commercial reporting, KPIs and financial analysis.
• Supporting pricing, profitability and margin analysis.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial performance and business processes.
• Taking ownership of cash flow, working capital and other key financial metrics.
• Improving systems, controls and processes as the business continues to grow.
• Supporting and developing the finance function, with the opportunity to grow and lead a team.
• Acting as a trusted finance partner across the wider business.
• Working alongside the FD on strategic projects and helping shape the future direction of the finance function.
