Arriva Rail London Ltd is seeking a motivated Management Accountant for the UK Bus Finance Shared Services team, to join the Record-to-Report function on a 6-month fixed term contract. Hybrid working in Thurmaston with three days in the office, offering exposure to a large finance environment and opportunities to own key accounting activities.

The role targets part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA professionals with strong month-end, journals, accruals and balance sheet skills, plus solid Excel.

**Management Accountant – Record to Report (6-Month Fixed Term Contract)****Location:** Thurmaston (Hybrid Working)**Salary:** £35,000 - £40,000**Contract:** Fixed Term Contract (approximately 6 months)**Start Date:** Immediate start preferred; flexibility available for the right candidate**About the Role** We're looking for a motivated and proactive Management Accountant to join the UK Bus Finance Shared Services team within our Record-to-Report (R2R) function. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant to gain broad exposure across a large, complex finance environment while taking ownership of key accounting and reporting activities. You'll play a vital role in supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting, maintaining a strong control environment, and contributing to the continuous improvement of finance processes. The role offers a mix of hands-on accounting responsibilities, stakeholder engagement and process improvement activity, making it ideal for someone looking to further develop their management accounting career in a fast-paced and collaborative team. This role is based at our Thurmaston office and operates on a hybrid basis, with a minimum of three days per week in the office.**What You'll Be Doing** * Taking ownership of key month-end activities including journals, accruals and prepayments.* Preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving outstanding items.* Supporting the production of monthly management accounts and period-end reporting.* Assisting with statutory, tax and group reporting requirements.* Providing information and supporting documentation for internal and external audits.* Working closely with Finance Business Partners and colleagues across Shared Services to resolve queries and support operational decision-making.* Maintaining process documentation and ensuring adherence to internal controls and governance requirements.* Identifying opportunities to improve, standardise and simplify processes across the R2R function.* Providing flexible support across the wider finance team during busy reporting periods. **What We're Looking For** * Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA (or equivalent relevant experience).* Experience within a management accounting or financial accounting environment.* Strong understanding of month-end processes, journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.* Good Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems.* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.* Ability to work independently while managing competing priorities and deadlines.* A collaborative and proactive approach with strong stakeholder management skills. **Desirable Experience** * Previous experience within a Shared Services environment.* Experience working within a large or complex organisation.* Oracle E-Business Suite experience.* Exposure to process improvement or finance transformation initiatives. **Why Join Us?** You'll be joining an established UK Bus Finance Shared Services team that supports multiple operating companies across the UK.
