Job summary

Mattioli Woods plc is seeking a meticulous Management Accountant to join the Group Finance team in Leicester. You will own management reporting and financial control across multiple entities, ensuring accurate, timely reporting within a growing wealth management business.

You will prepare monthly accounts, perform variance analyses, lead month-end close, and support audits and governance. A strong accounting qualification and advanced Excel are essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant with multi-entity experience.
• Strong record in management accounting, financial reporting and controls.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L and balance sheet for allocated entities and revenue streams.
• Produce variance analysis and commentary to explain financial performance.
• Lead month-end close activities including journals and reporting reviews.
• Maintain robust balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items.
• Act as finance contact for reporting within assigned areas.
• Maintain revenue reporting schedules and ensure income recognition per policy.
• Support statutory reporting, audits and finance-led projects.
• Identify improvements to reporting processes, controls and documentation.

Job description

We're looking for a detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our Group Finance team at Mattioli Woods based at our Leicester office.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of management reporting and financial control across allocated revenue streams and legal entities. You'll play a key role in ensuring reporting is accurate, well-controlled, and delivered on time within a growing, multi-entity financial services business.

What you'll be doing

• preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet reporting for allocated entities and revenue streams
• producing variance analysis and insightful commentary to explain financial performance
• leading month-end close activities, including journals, adjustments and reporting reviews
• maintaining robust balance sheet reconciliations and resolving reconciling items promptly
• acting as the key finance contact for reporting matters within assigned areas
• maintaining revenue reporting schedules and ensuring income is recognised in accordance with Group accounting policies
• supporting statutory reporting requirements, audit processes and finance-led projects
• identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, controls and documentation standards

What we're looking for

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant
• experience in management accounting, financial reporting or financial control within a multi-entity environment
• strong understanding of P&L reporting, balance sheet control and month-end processes
• experience producing management accounts, reconciliations and variance analysis
• excellent attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities
• advanced Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables
• experience within financial services, wealth management or another regulated sector would be advantageous
• exposure to financial reporting systems, ERP platforms or revenue-led businesses would be beneficial
