Job summary

Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Management Accountant for our Hull-based client. The role focuses on end-to-end accounting, accurate reporting and strong financial controls within a collaborative finance team.

You will own accounting activities, prepare year-end information, perform reconciliations and support schedules, while liaising with external accountants to ensure timely reporting. AAT Level 3 or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with end-to-end accounting processes and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing or supporting management accounts and year-end reporting.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to investigate discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Taking ownership of accounting activities, including preparing year-end information, reviewing financial records and ensuring accurate reporting.
• Completing bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving complex accounting queries.
• Preparing accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules, working with external accountants to ensure accurate and timely year-end reporting.
• Managing day-to-day financial transactions, including invoicing, payments, credit control and account administration, while maintaining effective financial controls.
• Supporting colleagues with technical accounting queries, identifying opportunities to improve processes and contributing to the smooth running of the finance function.

Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Hull

Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 DOE

The Opportunity:

• Taking ownership of accounting activities, including preparing year-end information, reviewing financial records and ensuring accurate reporting.

About You:

• Strong practical accounting experience, with a sound understanding of end-to-end accounting processes.
• Experience preparing or supporting management accounts, year-end accounts or financial reporting, including reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• An AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent accounting qualification, supported by relevant hands‑on experience.
• Confidence using Excel and accounting software, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and understand the detail behind financial information.
• A methodical, organised approach and the ability to manage competing deadlines without compromising accuracy.
• Clear communication skills, a collaborative mindset and the confidence to take ownership of responsibilities while supporting the wider team.
