Job summary

Consortium Professional Recruitment Ltd in Hull is seeking a Management Accountant to join a collaborative finance team. You will take ownership of accounting activities and contribute to accurate financial reporting.

The role covers bank reconciliations, accruals and year-end support, plus daily transactions and process improvements. You should have practical accounting experience, AAT Level 3 or equivalent, strong Excel skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Job Title: Management Accountant

Location: Hull

Salary: £32,000 - £37,000 DOE

Consortium Professional Recruitment are delighted to be working exclusively with an established and growing Hull-based business to recruit a Management Accountant. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative finance team where your technical knowledge, attention to detail and ability to deliver accurate financial information will be genuinely valued.

With a varied workload and the opportunity to contribute to process improvements, this position would suit someone who enjoys combining technical accounting with hands‑on financial responsibilities.

The Opportunity:

As a Management Accountant, you'll play a key role in:

• Taking ownership of accounting activities, including preparing year-end information, reviewing financial records and ensuring accurate reporting.
• Completing bank reconciliations, investigating discrepancies and resolving complex accounting queries.
• Preparing accruals, prepayments and supporting schedules, working with external accountants to ensure accurate and timely year-end reporting.
• Managing day-to-day financial transactions, including invoicing, payments, credit control and account administration, while maintaining effective financial controls.
• Supporting colleagues with technical accounting queries, identifying opportunities to improve processes and contributing to the smooth running of the finance function.

Your work will directly contribute to accurate financial reporting, stronger accounting controls and improved processes, helping the business make informed decisions with confidence.

About You:

We're looking for someone who can bring:

• Strong practical accounting experience, with a sound understanding of end-to-end accounting processes.
• Experience preparing or supporting management accounts, year-end accounts or financial reporting, including reconciliations, accruals and prepayments.
• An AAT Level 3 qualification or equivalent accounting qualification, supported by relevant hands‑on experience.
• Confidence using Excel and accounting software, with the ability to investigate discrepancies and understand the detail behind financial information.
• A methodical, organised approach and the ability to manage competing deadlines without compromising accuracy.
• Clear communication skills, a collaborative mindset and the confidence to take ownership of responsibilities while supporting the wider team.
