Hawk3 Talent Solutions is recruiting a commercially minded Management Accountant for a confidential client in Bradford (BD4). The role focuses on ownership of the management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and driving improved financial reporting and profitability.

You will work closely with the Head of Finance, support payroll and internal controls while promoting operational insight to senior stakeholders. Flexible hours and a four-day week option after probation provide balance.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in management accounting or similar finance role.
• CIMA/ACCA qualification or actively studying toward it.
• Strong analytical and financial reporting capability.
• Excellent Excel and financial systems proficiency.
• Ability to explain financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Working Hours: Flexible start and finish times between 6:00am and 6:00pm

The Opportunity

Hawk3 Talent Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a confidential client for a commercially minded and proactive Management Accountant to join their finance team in BD4, Bradford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to play a key role in supporting business performance, strengthening financial controls and providing meaningful insight to support strategic decision-making.

Working closely with the Head of Finance and wider business teams, you will take ownership of the management accounts process, contribute to budgeting and forecasting, and help identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, operational efficiency and profitability.

The business offers flexible working hours, with the option to move to a four-day working week following successful completion of probation, providing an attractive balance between professional responsibility and work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Management Accounts & Financial Reporting

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes, ensuring deadlines are consistently achieved.
• Analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts and previous periods, identifying variances, trends and areas requiring attention.
• Provide clear financial analysis and commercial insight to support business planning, operational decisions and profitability.
• Maintain accurate financial records, reconciliations and supporting documentation.

Financial Control & Compliance

• Reconcile sales, cost of sales and balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Support supplier payments and statutory payment processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with wider financial reporting and compliance requirements.
• Maintain robust internal controls and financial procedures across business activities.
• Work closely with the Head of Finance to promote strong financial discipline and ensure processes remain aligned with business requirements.

Process Improvement & Commercial Support

• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting accuracy, systems and controls.
• Explore the use of AI, automation and technology to streamline reporting and improve efficiency.
• Support the implementation and development of finance systems and processes.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and support for wider business initiatives.
• Offer financial insight that helps improve operational performance and commercial outcomes.

Wider Finance Responsibilities

• Provide payroll support and cover when required.
• Collaborate with senior management, the Head of Finance and the Finance/Ecommerce team to support the effective running of the business.
• Adapt to changing business priorities and contribute to the continuous improvement of the finance function.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
• CIMA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or actively studying towards a relevant qualification.
• Strong analytical skills, commercial awareness and financial reporting capability.
• The ability to interpret financial data and communicate findings clearly to non-finance stakeholders.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
• Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate work to tight deadlines.

Desirable Experience

• Experience using Sage or similar accounting software.
• Experience supporting or implementing finance systems.
• An interest in using AI and automation to enhance finance processes and reporting.
• Experience supporting payroll activities.
