Job Advert in Pontefract is seeking a Management Accountant to join the finance team and take ownership of management accounts across multiple sites. The role focuses on analysing business performance and partnering with operational teams to provide financial insight that drives profitability.

You will manage weekly and period accounts, support cost allocation, and deliver P&L reviews with stakeholders. Hybrid working, study support, and development within a growing finance function are on offer.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role.
• Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
• ACCA/CIMA study towards or qualification.

Responsibilities

• Producing and reconciling weekly and period management accounts for multiple sites.
• Ensuring costs are correctly allocated across revenue streams to support profitability analysis.
• Preparing and presenting weekly P&L reviews with functional managers.
• Managing weekly and period inventory reconciliations, valuations and revaluations.
• Combining and reconciling information from ERP systems and spreadsheets.
• Reviewing purchase price variances against forecast and budget.
• Managing and overseeing the complete claims cycle.
• Preparing and submitting balance sheet GL accounts to tight deadlines.
• Providing critical analysis of trends, costs and variances.
• Collaborating with functional managers and senior stakeholders.

Location: Pontefract, hybrid working
Salary: up to £40,000 + study + benefits

Are you looking to take the next step in your management accounting career?

I’m working with a rapidly growing manufacturing business that is looking for a Management Accountant to join their finance team. This is a broad role where you’ll take ownership of management accounts, analyse business performance and work closely with operational stakeholders to provide financial insight.

This Management Accountant role would suit someone who enjoys working with data and analysis but also wants to be involved in the wider business, partnering with operational teams and having a genuine impact on performance.

Your responsibilities will include:

What are we looking for?

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
• Strong business partnering and stakeholder management experience
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
• Excellent analytical and variance analysis skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to influence at all levels
• Manufacturing experience is desirable
• Actively studying towards or fully qualified in ACCA / CIMA
