Job summary

Axon Moore are supporting a thriving Clitheroe-based manufacturer with a Management Accountant role in a small finance team. The role covers financial reporting, compliance and commercial analysis across ecommerce, retail and manufacturing, with study support for ACCA/CIMA.

You will present monthly accounts, own month-end processes, and partner with commercial teams to monitor budgets and margins. Hybrid working and progression opportunities offered.

Qualifications

• Experience with management accounts and reporting.
• Studying ACCA or CIMA with full study support.
• Knowledge of accounting controls and compliance.
• Proficient with Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
• Experience in SME or manufacturing is desirable.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Present monthly management accounts to the Finance Director with accurate P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
• Own month-end procedures and ensure GL integrity.
• Partner with commercial/ops teams to monitor sales and expenditure per budget holder.
• Analyze margin and profitability by product line, channel and region.
• Own cash flow reporting and variance analysis.
• Maintain relationships with stakeholders and ensure finance tasks are handled efficiently.
• Maintain internal controls and scalable processes as the business grows.
• Line manage a small finance team and mentor staff as required.
• Oversee accounting transactions and ensure corrections where needed.

Management Accountant | £40,000 - £48,000 |Clitheroe & Hybrid | Study Support | Progression Opportunities

Axon Moore are pleased to be working on behalf of a successful manufacturing business based in Clitheroe who are looking to add a Management Accountant to their small finance team.

This role has responsibility for financial reporting, compliance and commercial analysis across e-commerce, retail and manufacturing. The role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone to come and make their mark and continue to develop their finance career in a rapidly growing business.

This role would be best suited to candidates who are keen to progress and are currently studying either their ACCA or CIMA qualifications with full study support on offer.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Presentation of monthly management accounts to the Finance Director, ensuring the timely reporting and accuracy of the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow
• Ownership for month-end procedures and tasks to the agreed reporting deadlines ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
• Business partner with commercial and operations teams to help prepare and monitor sales & expenditure for each budget holder
• Analyse margin and profitability by product line, channel and region
• Ownership cash flow reporting including variance analysis
• Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring finance related tasks are dealt with effectively
• Maintain internal controls and ensure systems and processes scale appropriately as the business grows
• Line manage the small finance team to ensure the departments deliverables are achieved and provide mentorship and support as required
• Responsibility for accounting transactions ensuring independent review and corrections where necessary

Required Skills and Experience

• Previous experience working with management accounts
• Studying towards a professional qualification (ACCA or CIMA)
• Technical knowledge of accounting, financial controls and compliance
• Proficient user of accounting software such as Xero, Quickbooks or Sage
• Experience within an SME or manufacturing environment desirable
• Strong communication skills, excellent organisational skills and resilient in adapting to change
• Advanced Excel skills
