Job summary

The One Group is seeking a Management Accountant to join their manufacturing team in the United Kingdom. You will prepare weekly and monthly accounts, perform variance analysis, support rolling forecasts, and reconcile balance sheets. Strong Excel and ERP experience are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years in a Management Accountant role.
• Qualified, part-qualified, finalist or qualified by experience.
• Strong Excel skills and ERP experience required.
• Manufacturing/fast-paced environment experience preferred.
• Experience with process improvement, automation or AI in finance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare weekly and monthly accounts with variance analysis and commentary.
• Support rolling forecasts and explain variances against targets.
• Perform month-end journals, balance sheet review and reconciliation.
• Lead working capital reporting and short-term cash flow forecasting.
• Strengthen financial controls and identify process improvements.
• Partner with operations to drive performance and liaise with group functions and auditors.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of weekly and monthly accounts, including variance analysis and commentary
• Supporting rolling forecasts and explaining variances against targets
• Month-end journals and balance sheet review and reconciliation
• Working capital reporting and short-term cash flow forecasting
• Strengthening financial controls and identifying process improvements
• Business partnering with operational teams to improve performance
• Liaising with group functions and external auditors where required

Requirements:

• At least 2 years' experience within a Management Accountant role
• Qualified, part-qualified/finalist or qualified by experience - attitude and experience are just as important as the qualification itself
• Strong Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems
• Previous experience within an SME or hands-on finance environment would be highly advantageous
• Manufacturing experience would be ideal, although another fast-paced operational environment would translate well
• Experience with process improvement, automation or AI within finance would be a real advantage
