Job summary

Know How Resourcing is seeking a Management Accountant for a manufacturing business in Keighley, West Yorkshire. You will partner with senior management, own the finance function, and provide commercial financial insight to support strategic decisions.

This hands-on role covers month-end reporting, cash flow monitoring, payroll checks, and cost analysis across Sales, Production and Purchasing. A proactive, collaborative mindset is essential.

Responsibilities

Management Accountant

Location: Keighley, West Yorkshire

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm | Friday 7:00am - 12:00pm (Early Finish Every Friday!)

Salary: £45,000

Are you an experienced Management Accountant looking for a role where you can genuinely influence business performance rather than simply produce reports?

We're looking for a commercially focused Management Accountant to join our established and growing manufacturing business in Keighley. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with senior management, taking ownership of the finance function, and providing meaningful financial insight that supports strategic business decisions.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You'll work across all areas of the business, partnering with Sales, Production and Purchasing while helping drive continuous improvement and ensuring the finance function operates efficiently and accurately.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and providing commercial support across the business.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Producing accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Managing weekly supplier payment runs and bank reconciliations.
• Completing weekly payroll checks and monthly payroll reconciliations.
• Preparing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Monitoring cash flow, budgets and financial forecasts.
• Calculating landed costs and supporting stock valuation and reporting.
• Providing financial analysis and commercial insight to support business decisions.
• Working closely with Production, Sales and Purchasing to improve profitability and operational performance.
• Supporting year-end accounting processes and external audits.
• Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes and drive continuous improvement.

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical accounting skills with a commercial mindset and enjoys being part of a collaborative manufacturing environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Management Accountant or in a similar finance role.
• AAT qualification, be studying CIMA or ACCA, or be qualified through experience.
• Experience preparing monthly management accounts.
• Strong Excel skills and experience using Sage or a similar accounting package.
• Payroll processing and reconciliation experience.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to work alongside senior management.
• Previous experience within a manufacturing environment would be advantageous but isn't essential.
