Job summary

Trinity House Group Ltd is seeking a Management Accountant to take ownership of multi-site management accounts near the Jewellery Quarter. You will run rigorous month-end processes, produce P&L and balance sheet packs, and investigate any variances until you can explain the figures.

The role combines strong numbers with relationship-building across site teams, and offers study support for ACCA or CIMA after probation. A proactive, process‑improving mindset will be valued.

Qualifications

• Experience managing accounts for multiple sites or business units.
• Solid grounding in P&L, balance sheet, accruals and month end.
• Ability to produce clear variance commentary that explains the numbers.

Responsibilities

Management Accountant

We are excited to be partnering with a growing business based just out of the Jewellery Quarter on the recruitment of their new Management Accountant! The role has come about because the previous Management Accountant has progressed internally, which tells you plenty about how they treat their people. This role is exciting because you will be looking after a mixture of sites, with more being added as the business grows. If you take real pride in your work, and a month end that does not quite add up keeps nagging at you until you have found out why, this could be the role for you. They want someone part-qualified, a finalist or newly qualified in ACCA or CIMA, who loves getting stuck into a process and leaving it better than they found it. And if you enjoy the people side of finance too, you will get to put it to use with your site teams, including the odd trip out to see them in person.

What You Will Be Doing

• Owning the management accounts for your own set of sites, including some of the biggest and most complex in the business
• Running month end for each site, where the first five working days are busy and fast-moving, and making sure every number is right before it goes anywhere
• Producing the P&L and balance sheet, including accrued revenue, journals and balance sheet reconciliations
• Digging into the numbers when something does not add up, and following it through until you know exactly why
• Spotting the clunky bits of month end and fixing them, whether that is automation, better templates or taking a day off the close
• Writing variance commentary that tells the story behind the figures, not just the movement
• Being the finance person your site teams want to talk to, picking up the phone and building real relationships
• Challenging costs and revenue constructively when something looks off, and being comfortable asking why
• Visiting your sites about once a quarter, for a couple of days each time, to see the operation first-hand
• Working with a close team of management accountants who each look after their own sites, and sharing what works

What We Need From You

• Part-qualified, finalist or newly qualified in ACCA or CIMA
• Experience looking after the accounts for more than one site, entity or business unit, so you are used to juggling several sets of numbers at once
• A solid grounding in P&L, balance sheet, accrued revenue, journals and month end
• Someone who takes real pride in their work, because month end is full on and the numbers need to be right
• Someone who sees a process that does not add up and does the deep dive to put it right, so if you have automated something or shortened month end, we want to hear about it
• Someone who works easily with non-finance colleagues and genuinely enjoys the people side of the role
• A proactive self-starter who gets on with things without being chased every ten minutes
• Ideally on a short notice period, as the business would like someone in place before the new year, and happy with the occasional trip to site
