Hunter Selection is seeking a Managed Services Engineer in Birmingham (Hybrid) to join a growing MSP team. You will focus on automation, security, monitoring, patch management, and endpoint management across a diverse customer base.

This senior engineer role involves working with technical, projects, support and service delivery teams to improve operational standards and deliver scalable solutions that drive measurable customer outcomes. Hybrid working with on-site as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Senior MSP engineer with automation focus and MSP background.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows Server and Entra ID/AD.
• Experience with RMM/PSA and security monitoring solutions.

Managed Services Engineer - Birmingham (Hybrid) - £35k-£50k + Excellent Benefits

We're recruiting for a Managed Services Engineer to join a growing managed services team in a newly created role. This position sits at the heart of service delivery and will focus on improving automation, security, monitoring, patch management, and endpoint management across a diverse customer base.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior engineer with a background in MSPs who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, driving service improvements, and building scalable solutions that make a measurable difference. You'll work closely with technical, projects, support, and service delivery teams to improve operational standards and enhance customer outcomes.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading the development and improvement of managed service standards, processes, and tooling.


• Designing and maintaining automation workflows using PowerShell, APIs, and platform-native automation tools.


• Acting as a senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure, endpoint, security, networking, and backup issues.


• Driving improvements across patch compliance, monitoring, security, onboarding, and backup resilience.


• Managing and optimising RMM platforms, monitoring policies, alerting thresholds, and reporting capabilities.


• Supporting service design, technical consultancy, and pre-sales activities where required.


• Working closely with internal teams to identify opportunities for operational improvement and automation.

What We're Looking For

• Significant experience within an MSP or managed services environment.


• Strong technical knowledge across:


• Microsoft 365


• Windows Server


• Entra ID / Active Directory


• Networking & VPN technologies


• Endpoint management


• Security & monitoring solutions


• Experience working with RMM and PSA platforms.


• PowerShell scripting and automation experience.


• Experience improving service delivery across multiple customer environments.


• Excellent troubleshooting and customer-facing communication skills.

Nice To Have

• Experience with endpoint security and MDR/EDR platforms.


• Backup and disaster recovery technologies.


• Firewall and network security experience.


• Exposure to vulnerability management and security compliance tooling.


• Experience with enterprise wireless networking environments.
