Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Camberley is seeking a Male SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming secondary school in the Camberley area. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN, SEMH and behavioural needs, helping them access the curriculum.

This role offers full-time, long-term work with a pay rate of £92.63–£100 per day depending on experience. You will work closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to build positive relationships and act as a positive

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH and behavioural needs.
  • Ability to implement individual support and behaviour strategies.
  • Able to build positive relationships with students and staff.
  • Good communication with teachers, SENCO and pastoral teams.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of pupils.
  • Willingness to participate in safeguarding and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to students with additional needs.
  • Support students with SEN, SEMH, behavioural and learning needs.
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement.
  • Support students to access the curriculum and participate in lessons.
  • Help students develop their confidence, independence and social skills.
  • Work closely with teachers, the SENCO and pastoral team.
  • Implement individual support and behaviour strategies.
  • Provide reassurance and consistency for students who may struggle in a mainstream classroom.
  • Encourage students to overcome barriers and reach their full potential.
