Job summary

McLarens is seeking a qualified Major Loss professional to support senior Loss Adjusters across technical and claims matters within a global network. You will assist with reporting, reserves monitoring, VAR assessments and settlement negotiations, while liaising with insureds, insurers and brokers to achieve timely conclusions.

Successful candidates will bring MRICS or similar professional qualifications, strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, and a track record in Major Loss

Responsibilities

• Support Major Loss Adjusters on technical and claims matters.
• Assist with reporting requirements and with setting and monitoring reserves.
• Complete VAR assessments and negotiate settlements professionally.
• Liaise with insureds, insurers and brokers to ensure timely settlements.
• Produce reports in line with standards and guidelines; contribute to business development.
• Identify opportunities for growth and support ad hoc projects.

Key Accountabilities

• Supporting Major Loss Adjusters on both technical and quantum matters
• Assist Major Loss Adjusters with reporting requirements
• Assist Major Loss Adjusters with setting and monitoring accurate reserves
• Completion of VAR assessments
• Investigating, negotiating and agreeing settlement of claims in a professional manner
• Liaising with insured, insurers and brokers to achieve professional and timelyconclusion of claims.
• Producing reports in compliance with professional standards and internal guidelines in accordance with agreed timescales.
• Actively contribute towards McLarens’ business development programme.
• Network, identify and facilitate opportunities for business growth.
• Undertaking projects and other ad hoc work as required.

Experience and Qualifications

Successful candidates should ideally be professionally qualified /working towards professional qualifications such as MRICS, have gained significant experience in Major Loss insurance claims surveying, or in allied professions, demonstrating a focus on quality, communication, and organisational skills.

They will have proven capability in negotiation, decision making, and problem-solving, coupled with strong stakeholder management. An ability to develop strong relationships both internally and externally is imperative. A proven, positive reputation in the Broker and Insurer market would be advantageous.

Due to the geographic coverage of the role travel will be required.
