Join us as a Major Loss Adjuster to take on key responsibilities within a world-class claims function.

Our claims handlers deal with highly sophisticated insureds globally, including large multinational fronting programmes where AIG leads and makes decisions on high-value and complex claims across various jurisdictions. The role is client-facing, involving coverage, legal liability, and quantum analysis, with significant interaction with brokers, insureds, external providers, and internal stakeholders.

Our claims team is an industry leader, offering opportunities for adjusters to develop and expand their experience across Energy and Construction products.

How you'll make an impact

This role manages 'Major Loss' energy claims, characterized by high complexity and monetary exposure. Responsibilities include coverage determinations, loss investigation, independent assessment of exposure, developing cost-effective resolution strategies, and quantum analysis. The role involves mitigating indemnity and expense exposure and communicating with stakeholders. It may also include cross-border claims handling, requiring awareness of legal and regulatory systems outside the home jurisdiction.

What you'll need to succeed:

• Technical Skills and Expertise:
  • Market-leading knowledge in Major Loss Energy claims
  • Expertise in policy language interpretation
  • Knowledge of legal, regulatory, and litigation requirements; experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and ADR
  • Experience in technical claims audits and catastrophe management
  • Ability to manage claims outside local jurisdiction, understanding local laws and regulations, and coordinating with claims teams across jurisdictions

• Leadership Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to deliver technical training
  • Influence claims stakeholders and direct claims strategy
  • Senior stakeholder management experience internally (underwriting, distribution, actuarial, finance, management) and externally (brokers, major clients)
