Job summary

Adecco Group UK & Ireland is seeking a Summer Maintenance Operative to support a leading student accommodation provider during the crucial summer turnaround period in Bournemouth. The role is hands-on, focusing on preparing rooms and common areas for the new academic year and ensuring high standards for residents and guests.

The position is temporary with ASAP start, 40 hours per week, 16.50 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE, Monday to Friday, across site maintenance tasks including plumbing,

Qualifications

• Previous experience in residential maintenance, facilities, property maintenance or a trade such as plumbing or carpentry.
• Hands-on, practical approach with attention to detail.
• Positive attitude and good teamwork abilities.
• Trade qualifications are advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repair work across the site.
• Assist with room refreshes and preparation for new residents.
• Support move-in activities, including occasional heavy lifting.
• Complete basic plumbing, painting and decorating tasks.
• Undertake paint work, mastic work and replacements.
• Perform routine safety checks and ensure health and safety compliance.
• Work collaboratively with the Maintenance Technician team and wider site staff.
• Help deliver a positive experience for residents and guests.

Location: Bournemouth City Centre, BH8
Pay: £16.50 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE
Hours: 09:00am - 5:30pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours per week, 30-minute unpaid lunch)
