Serco Limited is seeking a Maintenance Operative to support the Home Office AASC contract in Cumbria. You will carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance, tackling joinery, plumbing, painting and general tasks to keep homes safe and compliant.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and a willingness to travel across the region, with training and progression into senior roles. A company van, tools, and uniform are provided, along with benefits including pension and leave.

Qualifications

• Must have a full UK driving licence.
• Experience or qualifications in one or more trades desirable (joinery, plumbing, painting, decorating, building maintenance).
• Practical, problem-solving mindset with willingness to travel across the region and possibly elsewhere in the UK.

Responsabilités

• Carry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across a portfolio of properties, ensuring work is completed safely and within timescales.
• Complete joinery, plumbing, painting and decorating, servicing and general maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with Housing Officers, contractors and colleagues to maintain safe, compliant homes meeting Home Office standards.
• Record maintenance activities, manage jobs through systems, and coordinate contractors as needed.
• Perform property compliance activities including PAT testing and safe working practices.
• Manage materials, tools and the company vehicle, maintaining it to a professional standard.
• Build positive relationships with residents, landlords and partner organisations to deliver a customer-focused service.
• Participate in the out-of-hours on-call rota for 24-hour emergency maintenance.
