Job summary

Ganymede Solutions Ltd. is seeking a Technician – Mechanical & Electrical Maintenance in Southampton to maintain, service, fault-find and repair heavy lift equipment, primarily Liebherr lifting machinery and cranes. You will work in a safety-critical, 24/7 maintenance environment with a hands-on engineering mindset.

The role offers a permanent position, a salary circa £55k per annum with overtime and benefits, and a structured technical development pathway within a busy intermodal logistics hub.

Qualifications

• A relevant Level 3 engineering qualification.
• Apprentice-trained or time-served engineering experience.
• Practical experience in electrical and/or mechanical maintenance.
• Strong commitment to safe working practices.
• Clear communication skills and a reliable, team-focused approach.
• Flexibility to work across a 24/7 shift roster.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, inspect, fault-find and repair heavy lift equipment.
• Complete electrical and mechanical maintenance activities safely and to the required technical standard.
• Follow engineering procedures, health and safety requirements and local safety policies.
• Keep accurate and comprehensive maintenance, defect and repair records in line with company and legislative requirements.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requirements quickly and professionally to ensure minimal disruption to operations.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards to keep the yard and terminal clean, organised and safe.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in a safety-critical, 24/7 maintenance environment.
