Ganymede Solutions Ltd. in Southampton is seeking a Dual Skilled Technician to maintain Liebherr lifting machinery and heavy lift equipment in a busy intermodal hub.

You will report to the Engineering Manager, fault-find, service, inspect and repair, while keeping safety records and complying with procedures in a 24/7 operations environment.

The role offers circa £55k per annum basic with overtime and benefits, with development opportunities within a safety‑critical team.

Qualifications

• A relevant Level 3 engineering qualification.
• Apprentice-trained or time-served experience in engineering.
• Electrical and mechanical maintenance skills.
• Ability to fault-find and repair to high standards.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, service, inspect, fault-find and repair heavy lift equipment.
• Complete electrical and mechanical maintenance safely and to the required technical standard.
• Follow engineering procedures, health and safety requirements and local safety policies.
• Keep accurate maintenance, defect and repair records in line with company and legislative requirements.
• Respond to reactive maintenance quickly to minimise disruption to operations.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards to keep the yard, terminal clean, organised and safe.

Looking for a hands-on engineering role where your electrical and mechanical skills will keep vital machinery and heavy lifting equipment maintained?

Join within an experience engineering team within a busy intermodal transportation hub, working on a variety of machinery and heavy lift equipment.

The Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will maintain, service, fault-find and repair predominantly Liebherr lifting machinery & cranes. You will combine practical engineering expertise with disciplined safety and record-keeping standards, helping to keep machinery & equipment reliable, compliant and available for operation within this busy transportation hub.

What You Will Bring

• Knowledge of Liebherr equipment would be advantageous, but applications are also welcomed from any dual skilled engineering maintenance background including, maritime & ports, rail, heavy industry, HGV, aviation, industrial machinery, the Armed Forces or other safety-critical reactive engineering environments.

Shift Pattern

The site operates around the clock, so this position requires a flexible approach to working hours across a 24/7 shift roster, including days, nights and weekends. Overtime is available on a points system to ensure fair offering and shift cover is allocated across the team to allow for optimal use of holidays - e.g. 1 week block off across every 8 week rotation in addition to your allotted holiday allowance.
