Job summary

Admirals Reach Care Home is hiring a Maintenance Operative to keep the home safe, well maintained and fully operational. This hands-on role covers repairs, inspections, and general upkeep across the building and grounds, with a proactive approach to safety and efficiency.

You will work with the Home Manager to plan maintenance, coordinate contractors and ensure compliance with health and safety standards, supporting a welcoming, well-maintained environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in maintenance, facilities or a similar role.
• Good knowledge of general repairs, electrical and building maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• A proactive and practical approach.
• Reliable, organised and able to problem solve.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep.
• Ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.
• Work closely with the Home Manager and wider team to support maintenance planning and compliance checks.
• Coordinate contractors where required and help maintain a safe, fully functional environment.
• Maintain a well organised, safe work area in line with health and safety standards.
