Job summary

Admirals Reach Care Home is seeking a Maintenance Operative to keep the home safe, well maintained and fully operational. This is a hands-on role requiring practical skills and a proactive approach to support residents and staff.

You will perform repairs, inspections and general upkeep across the building, ensuring health and safety standards are met. Close collaboration with the Home Manager and team is essential for effective maintenance planning and coordination.

Maintenance Operative Contract

• £14.05 to £14.40 per hour
• Contracted to 37.5 hours per week
• Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As a Maintenance Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the home remains safe, well maintained and fully operational at all times. This is a hands on role with responsibility, where your practical skills and proactive approach will directly support the safety, comfort and overall environment.

You will carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks across the building and grounds, including repairs, inspections, installations and general upkeep. You will ensure equipment and systems are working safely and efficiently, identifying issues early and taking appropriate action.

Working closely with the Home Manager and wider team, you will support maintenance planning, compliance checks and contractor coordination where required. You will help maintain a well organised, safe and fully functional environment, ensuring all work is carried out in line with health and safety standards.
