Job summary

Distinct Consultancy is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer for a 4 on 4 off days and nights role at our Leeming site. You will maintain production equipment, perform PPM, and react to breakdowns to keep downtime to a minimum.

You will identify root causes, implement improvements, and work closely with the engineering team to enhance reliability and efficiency. This permanent role offers a structured environment and real progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience.
• Experience carrying out PPM and reactive breakdown maintenance.
• Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with root-cause analysis and eliminating repeat failures.
• Proactive approach to continuous improvement.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Experience working with maintenance management systems/MES or CMMS.
• Good organisational and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and inspections.
• Responding to machinery breakdowns and carrying out fault finding and diagnostics.
• Identifying root causes of equipment failures and implementing corrective actions.
• Carrying out improvements to plant and machinery using downtime and performance data.
• Maintaining accurate engineering records, maintenance logs and PPM schedules.
• Updating breakdown information through the site's MES system.
• Ordering and managing spare parts in line with company procedures.
• Maintaining a clean, organised engineering workshop in line with GMP standards.
• Providing downtime updates and communicating follow-up actions.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and lifespan.
