Job summary

Dnata Catering is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our London Heathrow team. You will manage maintenance programs across hot kitchens, cold prep areas, storage and HVAC plant, ensuring uptime and safety compliance.

In this high-volume aviation setting, you will develop preventive procedures, coordinate with external vendors, maintain records, and support rapid repairs as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, preferably in the food industry.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Effective communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement maintenance procedures, schedules, and preventive programs to maximize uptime.
• Maintain all machinery and systems in optimal condition.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations through inspections.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement prompt solutions.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory.
• Prepare requests for spare parts and materials as needed.

This role operates in a high-volume, time-sensitive aviation catering environment where equipment reliability, temperature control, and hygiene are critical.

The role covers hot kitchens, cold prep areas, chilled/frozen storage, dispatch zones, plant rooms, and roof-mounted HVAC plant.

Key Responsibilities

• Working to develop and implement maintenance procedures, schedules, and preventive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Maintain all machinery, equipment, and systems to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance or repairs.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including regular safety inspections.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures, diagnose issues, and implement effective solutions promptly.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory.
• Prepare requests for the ordering of spare parts and materials as needed to support maintenance activities.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Proven experience in Maintenance, preferably in food industry.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Technical knowledge of machinery and equipment.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with maintenance management software.
