Job summary

gap technical are representing a global manufacturing business recruiting a Maintenance Technician for their Trafford Park facility. The role features 2x shift patterns (Earlies/Lates) and a salary of £45,000 per annum.

You will execute mechanical tasks, perform planned maintenance, diagnose faults, and ensure safety compliance while coordinating with engineering and other departments. Apprenticeship to ONC/HNC/C&G Level 3 is expected.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained to ONC/HNC/C&G Level 3.
• Able to read hydraulics/pneumatics circuits.
• Capable of reading/producing mechanical drawings.
• Experience with preventive/predictive maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical activities on-site as directed.
• Complete planned maintenance tasks and change overs as required.
• Diagnose breakdown faults - mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, process.
• Ensure safety compliance and coordinate with other departments.
• Ensure equipment, materials and tools are on-hand for work.
• Log resources, time, scope changes and updates.
• Troubleshoot equipment problems and develop solutions.
• Provide technical support during breakdowns and changeovers.

Performance Objectives

• Execute mechanical activities on-site as directed


• All planned maintenance tasks, change overs, other additional work as required by engineering manager


• Diagnose breakdown faults - mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, process


• Permitting compliance with safety requirements and liaison and coordination with other Departments as required.


• Ensures equipment, materials and tools are on-hand for work execution.


• Reports resources and time utilized, job scope expansion, rework or deferred maintenance as required whilst keeping all tasks & activities logged and up-dated.


• Equipment Problems Trouble-shooting and Basic Root Cause Analysis and Development of Solutions.


• Provide Technical Support to all machine breakdowns and changeovers.

Person Specification

• Apprentice trained to ONC / HNC / C&G Level 3.


• Able to read Hydraulics / pneumatics circuits.


• Read and produce mechanical drawings.


• Carried out PPM on mechanical equipment.


• Electrical and Mechanical ability essential


• Complex problem solving and fault finding experience


• Attention to Detail


• Ability to work and learn independently
