Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd. is seeking a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join their Bolton facility. The role involves responding to breakdowns, carrying out safe repairs, and contributing to maintenance documentation and CMMS usage.

You will support continuous improvements, help achieve KPIs, and mentor colleagues while ensuring Health & Safety and Food Hygiene standards are met. Bolton-based position with a strong FMCG emphasis.

Qualifications

• Electrical bias in maintenance engineering within FMCG.
• ONC/NVQ Level 3 or higher in Maintenance Engineering.
• Strong communication and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out repairs safely and efficiently.
• Complete maintenance reports and documentation accurately within required timescales.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of the Engineering department.
• Help achieve Engineering KPIs and operational targets.
• Participate in both planned and reactive maintenance programmes.
• Assist with the development and full utilisation of the CMMS system.
• Mentor and support fellow team members where required.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with Production and other support departments.
• Ensure compliance with all company procedures, Health & Safety regulations, and Food Hygiene standards.
• Maintain plant and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation.
• Identify and implement productivity and labour-saving improvements alongside production teams.
• Provide technical engineering support and training to Line Technicians.

gap technical are representing an established food manufacturing business in their search for a Maintenance Engineer with an electrical bias to join their facility in Bolton.

Performance Objectives

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out repairs safely and efficiently.

• Good communication and IT skills.
