Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd. represents a global manufacturing business seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their Trafford Park facility near Manchester. The role is a two-shift pattern (Earlies/Lates) with a £45,000 annual salary.

Reporting to engineering management, you will execute mechanical tasks on-site, perform planned maintenance, diagnose faults in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, read drawings, and ensure safety compliance and timely, logged work completion.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained to ONC / HNC / C&G Level 3.
• Able to read Hydraulics / pneumatics circuits.
• Read and produce mechanical drawings.
• Carried out PPM on mechanical equipment.
• Electrical and Mechanical ability essential
• Complex problem solving and fault finding experience
• Attention to Detail
• Ability to work and learn independently

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical activities on-site as directed.
• All planned maintenance tasks, change overs, other additional work as required by engineering manager.
• Diagnose breakdown faults - mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, process.
• Permitting compliance with safety requirements and liaison and coordination with other Departments as required.
• Ensures equipment, materials and tools are on-hand for work execution.
• Reports resources and time utilized, job scope expansion, rework or deferred maintenance as required whilst keeping all tasks & activities logged and up-dated.
• Equipment Problems Troubleshooting and Basic Root Cause Analysis and Development of Solutions.
• Provide Technical Support to all machine breakdowns and changeovers.
