Job summary

VANRATH is recruiting a Maintenance Technician for a leading FMCG manufacturer in Lisburn. This permanent role offers a competitive salary of £51,000 plus excellent benefits.

Qualifications

• GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above.
• Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Automation or Mechatronics Engineering.
• At least 3 years' experience within FMCG, food or beverage manufacturing.
• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
• Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery and control systems.
• The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Technician

Lisburn | Permanent | £51,000 + Excellent Benefits

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a leading FMCG manufacturing operation in Lisburn.

This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served Electrical, Automation or Mechatronics Engineer to join a high-performing team, working on a range of PLC-controlled production and packaging equipment within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a key role in keeping production running efficiently by diagnosing faults, carrying out preventative maintenance and improving the reliability of plant and equipment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Diagnosing and resolving equipment breakdowns to minimise production downtime.


• Carrying out corrective and preventative maintenance on PLC-controlled production machinery, packaging equipment and associated systems.


• Inspecting equipment and identifying potential issues before they impact production.


• Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment.


• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical drawings.


• Troubleshooting control systems and carrying out detailed fault-finding and root cause analysis.


• Providing technical expertise to improve plant reliability, performance and efficiency.


• Maintaining accurate records of all maintenance activities using the Mobile Maintenance Management System.


• Updating maintenance records, job plans and technical documentation.


• Working closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to support smooth day-to-day operations.


• Ensuring all work is completed in line with company policies, health & safety standards and statutory requirements.

About You

You will ideally have:

• A minimum of 4 GCSEs including English and Maths at Grade C or above, or equivalent.


• A recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Electrical, Automation or Mechatronics Engineering.


• At least 3 years' experience within FMCG, food or beverage manufacturing.


• Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.


• Experience working with PLC-controlled machinery and control systems.


• The ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.


• Strong understanding of maintenance, troubleshooting and root cause analysis.


• A strong commitment to health and safety.


• The ability to work effectively across Production, Quality and Engineering functions.

Shift Pattern

The role operates on a 2 weeks days / 2 weeks nights rotation, with plenty of rest time built into the shift pattern.

This role also offers excellent overtime rates, providing the opportunity to significantly increase your earnings.
