Job summary

Dematic in the United Kingdom is seeking a technically capable on-site technician to carry out AMHE equipment servicing and scheduled repairs to meet quality standards and timelines.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, electronic, PLC, and PC faults, prioritise faults, maintain safe working practices, record work precisely, manage on-site spares, and uphold professional customer relations while adhering to Dematic's quality processes.

Qualifications

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred).
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred).
• Understanding of mechanical, electrical & electronic manuals & drawings.
• Basic understanding of control systems and PLC equipment.
• Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules.
• Working at height and conveyor systems experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out AMHE equipment servicing per quality standards and schedules.
• Undertake scheduled repairs per manufacturers recommendations and industry practices.
• Diagnose mechanical/electrical/electronic/PLC/PC faults and perform repairs.
• Prioritise system faults and ensure safe operation.
• Record all work accurately and maintain documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement and sales opportunities.
• Maintain on-site spares at optimum levels and represent the company professionally.

Tasks and Qualifications:

Principal Accountabilities

• Carry out AMHE equipment servicing in accordance with the quality standards and time schedules as set out in the equipment manuals
• To undertake scheduled repairs in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations and industry standard practices
• Diagnosis of Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic / PLC / PC faults and subsequent repairs
• Prioritise system faults
• To comply with Health & Safety legislation at all times
• To ensure quality of output at all times
• To accurately record all work undertaken
• Involvement in continuous improvement and sales opportunities
• Maintain product flow at all times
• To ensure on-site spares are kept to optimum levels
• To represent the company in a professional manner at all times and maintain customer relations
• To adhere to the Quality processes and procedures as set out by the company

Knowledge & Experience Required

• ONC or equivalent in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (electrical preferred)
• Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship (preferred)
• A working understanding of Mechanical, Electrical & Electronic technical manuals & drawings
• Basic understanding of control systems and techniques
• Basic understanding of PLC equipment
• Working at height
• Previous experience of working with various conveyor systems
• PC literacy
• Understanding of pre-preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules

Technical Competencies (Or Local Equivalents)

• Ability to learn and retain technical information
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and instructions
• Have a logical approach to fault finding and resolution
• Operate within a designed structure of pre-planned maintenance
