Job summary

OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our client located in Norfolk. The role is permanent, 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with participation in an out-of-hours rota after competency.

You will carry out mechanical maintenance on process plant, read drawings, perform basic electrical tasks, and support improvements using reliability data. NVQ3 required; minimum 3 years' experience; team player with good communication.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical maintenance discipline is essential.
• Minimum of 3 years' hands-on engineering maintenance experience.
• Boiler repairs and maintenance experience is required.
• PC skills including Word and Excel; ability to interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance on process plants including pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems.
• Read and interpret technical/engineering drawings and diagrams.
• Perform basic electrical tasks on motors and starter circuits.
• Complete mechanical assembly and pipe preparation work.
• Monitor and update CMMS records and reports.
• Support CHP plant operation and maintenance, including gas compression and steam/electricity generation.
• Participate in out-of-hours call-out rota when competent.

Job description

OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician for our client located in Norfolk. This is a permanent opportunity working 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Mechanical maintenance on a variety of process plants including; pumps, vessels, separationequipment, heat exchangers, hydraulic /pneumatic and piping systems.
• Reading and interpreting technical/engineering drawings and circuit diagrams.
• Basic electrical work on such items as electric motors and starter circuits.
• Complete mechanical assembly and pipe preparation tasks.
• Valve repair/ refurbishment including pressure testing.
• Undertaking accurate CMMS report writing and record keeping, ensuring an auditable closedloop system.
• Operation and maintenance of the CHP plant, which includes gas compression, steam generation, electricity generation.
• Daily and weekly monitoring of plant.
• Equipment failure Root Cause Analysis.
• Promote and adhere to high standards of housekeeping and engineering hygiene.
• Successful candidate will be required to participate in an out of hour’s call-out rota, once deemed competent, for which they will receive additional remuneration.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience required

Essential:

• NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical maintenance discipline.
• Relevant hands on experience in engineering maintenance (a minimum of 3 years).
• Boiler repairs and maintenance
• PC skills including Microsoft Word and Excel and basic electrical skills.
• The ability to multi-task and problem solve, using reliability data to identify improvement needs.
• Be able to work flexibly and have a positive attitude.
• Have the ability to communicate clearly and work well as part of a team.

Desirable:

• An understanding of boiler operations, maintenance and repair.
• An understanding of pump and valve maintenance.
• Experience of working in an industrial workplace with high hazard environments, and knowledgeof applicable regulations and safe systems of work.
• Relevant mechanical experience of fixed and rotating equipment.
• Electrical experience to ensure effective interaction with ECI disciplines.
• Member of a nationally recognised body e.g. Engineering Council.
