Job summary

Meridian Business Support Ltd in Devon and Torbay is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Mech or Elec) to join a 3-shift team. You will maintain and repair production machinery across earlies, lates and nights, covering electrical and mechanical systems.

You will troubleshoot breakdowns, read diagrams, use the Maintenance Management System for planned maintenance and contribute to continuous improvement while upholding EHS policies.

Qualifications

• Time-served apprenticeship or equivalent (minimum level 3 qualification)
• Multiskilled proficiency in industrial electrical and/or mechanical systems
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams and troubleshoot control panels
• Ability to pass medical including working at height and in confined spaces
• Computer literacy and familiarity with office software
• Resilient, resourceful with sound judgment and decision-making
• Proactive, with initiative and ability to work independently within a shift team

Responsibilities

• Minimise production downtime by troubleshooting breakdowns and preventing recurrences
• Work with electrical and mechanical drawings and documentation to fault find and modify plant and equipment
• Use a Maintenance Management System to carry out preventative/planned maintenance
• Contribute to improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce recurring issues
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment in line with EHS policies
• Continuously enhance job knowledge through training and development opportunities
• Perform electrical and mechanical work, including fabrication, welding and some minor electrical installation as required

The Company:

Are you an experienced MaintenanceEngineerorMaintenance Technician with either Electrical or Mechanical or Multiskilled skill? In this 3 shift role (combining earlies, lates and nights) you will be responsible for the daily maintenanceandrepair(preventative and emergency) of a wide range ofproduction and engineering machinery.You will work as part of a well established team ofMaintenance Techniciansand report into a Maintenance Manager.

Job Responsibilities:

• Minimise production downtime by trouble shooting breakdowns and preventing reoccurrences.
• Work with electrical and mechanical drawings and documentation undertake fault finding and modification of plant and equipment.
• Use a Maintenance Management System carry out preventative/ planned maintenance work.

Requirements:

• Successful completion of a time-served apprenticeship with a minimum level 3 qualification, BTEC/City and Guilds or equivalent.
• Demonstrated multiskilled proficiency in industrial electrical AND/ORmechanical systems, including pneumatic/hydraulic systems,fabrication,and welding.
• Proven competency in reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical diagrams as well as troubleshooting control panels.
• Ability to pass medical which includes assessments for working at height and in confined spaces.
• Computer literacy and familiarity with office software applications.
• Resilient,resourceful approach,with sound judgment and decision-making skills.
• Proactive work ethic,strong initiative,and the ability to operate independently within a shift team environment.

Pay and Hours:

• Working across a 3 shift pattern - 3 shifts (earlies, lates and nights), attracting a salary of £42000 (with paid overtime available at £26-27phr)
