Cummins Inc. in Daventry is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our Power Systems division on a permanent basis.

The role is 37.5 hours per week across a three-rotational shift pattern, with duties spanning maintenance across assembly, test and trim areas and ensuring equipment returns to production on time. You will apply your knowledge of automated lines, PPMs, safe systems of work, and problem solving to sustain safe, efficient operations.

Qualificações

• Apprenticeship or equivalent recognised training in electrical/mechanical disciplines.
• Experience with preventive maintenance techniques (PPMs).
• Experience with automated lines; knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC advantageous.
• Experience with safe systems of work (LOTO, heights, confined spaces).
• Proficient computer literacy with CMMS/ERP systems (Maximo).
• Ability to follow a structured problem-solving approach.
• Robotics experience is preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Safely perform a full range of maintenance duties in a manufacturing environment.
• Fault finding and repair of plant and machinery including automated lines and test cells.
• Ensure timely return-to-production after maintenance activities.
• Complete PPMs on schedule and respond to events as required.
• Review equipment to prevent failures and initiate CAPA when needed.
• Raise requisitions for spares within cost/quality/delivery constraints.
• Collaborate with Supervisors on priorities and support corrective engineering work.
• Support and train team members as appropriate.
• Follow safe systems of work including LOTO and confined spaces when required.

About The Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Power Systems Business Segment in Daventry. This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week on a three-rotational shift pattern, ensuring you have variety and balance in your working schedule.

Shift Patterns

• Morning Shift: Monday to Friday, 07.00am – 3.00pm
• Mid Shift: Monday to Thursday, 3.00pm – 11.00pm and Friday 10.30pm finish
• Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 11.00pm – 07.00am

Competitive Salary Package: £43,806 (depending on experience), plus shift allowance (£105 per week for Mid and £157.50 per week for Night), overtime, annual bonus, and a Cummins Reward Scheme.

What You’ll Do

As a Maintenance Technician, your role will be pivotal to keeping our operations running smoothly and safely. You’ll:

• Safely undertake a full range of maintenance duties within a complex manufacturing environment. The role will be predominantly working in the Assembly, Test and Trim areas ensuring key equipment is returned to production in a timely manner.
• Fault finding and repair of plant and machinery including automated lines, nut runners, test cells.
• Following job completion all equipment must be functioning correctly and efficiently.
• Timely completion of PPMs to schedule.
• Ensure a timely response to events.
• Review equipment with a view to pre-empt and prevent equipment failure.
• Raise requisitions for equipment spares in line with company cost, quality and delivery requirements and submit to supervisor for approval.
• Respond within skill boundaries for emergency procedure events.
• Liaise closely with Operation’s Supervisors on priorities and initiate analysis of data to support corrective engineering work.
• Support team operation and assist/train others as appropriate.
• Competently follow safe systems of work to complete tasks including working in confined space/at heights, LOTO where necessary.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Recognised apprenticeship (Time served electrician or mechanical fitter).
• Experienced in PPM techniques.
• Experience of automated lines (test cells preferable, Siemens S7 PLC knowledge an advantage).
• Experienced in working within Safe systems of work (LOTO, Working at height, Confined spaces).
• Computer literate (Maximo, Lotus Notes, Oracle).
• Able to follow a systematic problem solving process.
• Robotics experience preferred.
