Our Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the smooth running of our co-living houses and associated buildings across the business.
They will take care of matters associated with maintenance and repairs and provide proactive and reactive solutions. They will prepare, plan and implement a maintenance programme designed to reduce overall costs. They will plan and implement minor property improvement projects.
They will play a key role in ensuring our housemates can enjoy a comfortable stay in our beautiful houses. Excellent communication and relationship building skills will be essential as you fulfil a customer facing role, maintaining outstanding customer satisfaction whilst also balancing the needs of the business.
Reporting to the Lettings Manager, they will also assist our Ashford team during busy periods, when required. They will be supported by our lettings team and a comprehensive paperless, online working structure.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- To deliver maintenance activities to budget and to company standards.
- To provide friendly, polite service to our housemates and resolve maintenance and repair issues within agreed timescales and follow through to beyond satisfaction.
- Occasional pre-planned nights away to support our Ashford team.
The successful Person will:
- Have a proven multi-trade experience (painter, plumber and/or other maintenance-based trades)
- Have an understanding of basic landscaper and gardener.
- Have strong attention to detail.
- Have experience of task management systems
- A working knowledge of Word & Excel or other similar softwares
- Be a friendly team player, with a collaborative approach, able to assist across departments and outside of specified responsibilities when necessary.
- Be an excellent communicator with great relationship building skills.
- Be clean and well presented at all times.
- Have a full clean UK Driving Licence.
General Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain great relationships with our retained trades.
- Purchase supplies according to need and ensure returns of unwanted orders are completed within the correct time frame.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are recorded on our company system with effective management of time taken, parts used and overall costs.
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed with minimal disruption caused to housemates and following company policy.
- Keep the company storage units for furniture and maintenance supplies clean, tidy and protected against decay or damage.
- Use company software, platforms and programs to effectively manage and prioritise workload and communicate in-house.
