Job description

Location: Pontyclun, South Wales

Hours: 8:12 hour shifts (days and nights) or 6:6 Monday to Friday

Salary: GBP 25,000 - GBP 40,000, dependent on experience + bonus

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, is currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Technician to join our client's manufacturing environment in Pontyclun.

The Role

1. Working within the maintenance and continuous improvement team
2. First point of contact for all production staff regarding engineering issues
3. Maximize productivity through effective planned maintenance and repair
4. Provide an effective emergency response service for breakdowns within the factory
5. Proactively undertake risk assessments
6. Train other staff members to ensure 24-hour reactive capability
7. Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment and prototyping/production testing of new designs
8. Support compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental legislation, including record keeping and statutory checks
9. Shift pattern working will be required depending on business needs

Qualifications

1. Relevant qualifications such as a time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical: NVQ Level or above
2. 18th Edition
3. HNC / ONC
4. BTEC or City & Guilds desirable
5. MEWP / Combilift and/or Counterbalance licence desirable

About You

1. Must have PLC experience as well as general electrical and mechanical experience
2. Experience with fault finding and resolution
3. Excellent attention to detail
4. Knowledge and practical experience in A/C inverters, electro-pneumatics, drives/gearboxes, augers, hydraulic pumps, and seals
5. Ability to work well in a team and independently
6. Excellent problem-solving skills and a positive approach
7. Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and best practices regarding COSHH, working at heights, confined spaces, and risk assessments
