Contract Personnal are thrilled to be working with an industry leading packaging manufacturer in Beccles, Suffolk who is looking for multiple Technicians to join their team on a permanent basis.
Coming from a similar background, the ideal candidate will be comfortable carrying out the following job duties:
- Carry out tool changes and setting for plastics moulding machinery (Extrusion Blow moulding or Injection Moulding).
- Fault finding on machinery, identifying mechanical faults, set up issues, ancillary equipment settings and production quality issues.
- Raise maintenance works orders detailing any machine faults to the maintenance department.
- Ensure a QC check is completed on machines or at your supervisor’s request accurately every 2 hours.
- Ensure all production checks & documentation are completed properly.
- Carry out Post-Production Quality Check in accordance with Blowmould Work Instruction 10.
- Ensure that tool changes, colour changes etc., are carried out in accordance with the training procedure as laid down by the Manager/Technical supervisor or relevant work instructions.
- Ensure the machines are running correctly and safely at all times in accordance to the Blowmould programme.
- All check/log sheets and pallet labels should be filled out clearly and correctly with all relevant information.
- Ensure that line clearances are carried out at every change over in line with company procedures.
- Ensure that your work area is kept safe, clean, and tidy during and at the end of the shift.
- Ensure all duties are carried out in accordance with current legislation and company procedures, particularly but not exclusively regarding Health and Safety, Quality and Environment Management.
- Clear and proven competence of recent work in a technical role in an engineering environment, e.g., Motor Mechanic, Vehicle Technician, Machinist, Service Engineer or similar.
- Technical qualification: Minimum Level 2 in Engineering/Vehicle Maintenance or similar / equivalent.
- A logical and methodical approach to problem solving/fault finding issues.
- Confident in challenging existing practices in a positive manner, and looking for continuous improvement in all areas of work.
- Takes decisive action to address and react to opportunities and problems in day-to-day work.
- Ability to follow instructions to ensure work is completed as required.
- Ability to respond positively to changing work demands.
- Conscientious and thorough in all aspects of work responsibilities, and has a professional approach to work.
- Previous role in a manufacturing / packaging environment.
- Blow moulding or Injection moulding technical experience, setting machines and tooling.
You may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description.
Shifts are on a weekly rotating basis – 6am – 2pm, 2pm – 10pm, and 10pm – 6am.
