Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader - Electrical Bias in Doncaster. The role offers a £56,000 salary with a 3 on / 2 off / 2 on / 3 off 12-hour shift pattern.

You will lead a team of engineers, drive reliability improvements, coordinate maintenance and coach staff while ensuring safety and compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Electrically biased engineer with leadership and fault-finding experience.
• Experience leading or supervising an engineering team in manufacturing.
• Qualified electrical engineer with a recognised qualification such as NVQ 3 / City & Guilds / HNC.

Responsibilities

Engineering Team Leader - Electrical Bias

Location: Doncaster

Salary: £56,000

Shift: 3 on / 2 off / 2 on / 3 off - 12-hour Days & Nights

We're recruiting for an Engineering Team Leader - Electrical Bias to join an established building products manufacturing business in Doncaster.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineering Supervisor, Team Leader or Senior Maintenance Engineer looking to take the next step into a hands-on leadership role.

You’ll lead a team of engineers while playing a key role in plant reliability, maintenance performance and continuous improvement.

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day engineering function, ensuring production equipment is maintained safely, efficiently and reliably.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead, motivate and develop a team of maintenance engineers.
• Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance across the site.
• Carry out electrical fault-finding, diagnostics and repairs.
• Respond effectively to engineering breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Drive improvements in plant reliability, OEE and equipment performance.
• Manage and improve the PPM programme.
• Coach and develop engineers through training and support.
• Work closely with Production and Operations to maximise equipment availability.
• Identify recurring faults and implement effective root-cause solutions.
• Support engineering projects, equipment upgrades and continuous improvement.
• Ensure all maintenance activities meet company health & safety and compliance standards.

About You

We're looking for an electrically biased engineer with strong leadership and fault-finding experience.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Previous experience as an Engineering Team Leader, Engineering Supervisor, Chargehand, Senior Maintenance Engineer or Electrical Maintenance Engineer.
• Strong electrical engineering and fault-finding skills.
• Experience leading or supervising an engineering team.
• A recognised electrical/engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of PLCs, sensors, control systems, motors, inverters and industrial electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of PPM and preventative maintenance.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• A proactive approach to improving reliability and reducing downtime.
• Manufacturing or industrial experience.
• Experience within building products, construction materials, plastics, concrete, aggregates or similar manufacturing environments would be advantageous
