Job summary

CV Technical Limited is recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to maintain a wide range of production machinery in a modern North Yorkshire site. The role focuses on improving uptime and equipment reliability within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will carry out PPMs, diagnose faults on electrical control systems and PLC-driven equipment, and contribute to continuous improvement projects.

Qualifications

  • Recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
  • Maintenance experience in manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, recycling or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding on motors, drives, sensors, inverters and control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar).
  • Proactive maintenance and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
  • Diagnose and fault find on electrical control systems and production equipment.
  • Work with PLC-controlled machinery and automation systems.
  • Support continuous improvement projects to improve plant performance.
  • Ensure all maintenance work is safe and in line with procedures.
  • Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime.

Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: North Yorkshire

Salary: Up to £56,000 + Excellent Benefits

Shift Pattern: 3 Shift Rotation (Monday-Friday)

A leading manufacturing business with a strong reputation for quality, innovation and sustainability is looking to recruit an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join its well-established engineering team. The Role

As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production machinery and site services, ensuring maximum uptime and equipment reliability.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
  • Diagnosing and fault finding on electrical control systems and production equipment.
  • Working with PLC-controlled machinery and electrical automation systems.
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects to improve plant performance.
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and in line with company procedures.
  • Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime.
The Candidate

The successful candidate is likely to have:

  • A recognised electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent).
  • Previous maintenance experience within a manufacturing, FMCG, packaging, recycling or heavy industrial environment.
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills with experience on motors, drives, sensors, inverters and control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar would be advantageous).
  • A proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
  • The ability to work effectively within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
