Job summary

W Talent is recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor in Chesterfield, offering a salary of £40,000-£55,000, Monday to Friday days-based. You will lead a small team of Maintenance Engineers, oversee PPM activities and react to maintenance issues in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

You will report to the Engineering Manager and drive improvements across equipment reliability, safety compliance and site performance, with opportunities to progress into engineering management as the business

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor or Engineering Team Leader role.
• Strong background in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in FMCG, Food & Beverage, Plastics, Heavy Engineering, Automotive or similar.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems.
• Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support and develop a team of Maintenance Engineers.
• Plan and coordinate planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
• Manage reactive maintenance issues to minimise production downtime.
• Support fault finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
• Work closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
• Ensure health & safety standards and engineering procedures are maintained.
• Support engineering projects, installations and machinery upgrades.
