Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR currently advertises for a Maintenance Supervisor at a major food manufacturer in Preston. The role focuses on leading maintenance activities within a 24/7 production environment, ensuring safety, GMP compliance and efficient machine performance.

The ideal candidate will hold an apprenticeship level or above (electrical or mechanical) with prior supervisory experience, and be proficient in CMMS and MS Office tools to drive reliability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must hold an apprenticeship level or above in electrical or mechanical disciplines.
• Experience in maintenance within automated manufacturing, preferably in food/FMCG.
• Previous supervisory/coordination/mentoring experience in a maintenance environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high Health & Safety, Food Safety and GMP standards.
• Lead shift coordination, handovers and provide visible leadership.
• Delegate maintenance tasks and prioritize breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Collaborate with other operations teams to improve machinery availability.
• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across production areas.
• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and troubleshoot issues.
• Diagnose breakdowns quickly to minimise production disruption.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety, Food Safety, and GMP compliance
• Ensure effective shift coordination & handovers and provide leadership visibility
• Delegate planned maintenance duties effectively and ensure breakdowns are prioritised to ensure minimum disruption
• Work effectively with other operations teams to improve machinery availability and minimise downtime
• Carry out proactive and reactive maintenance support across all production areas
• Complete Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical issues
• Diagnose and resolve breakdowns efficiently to minimise downtime
• Highlight areas for performance improvement and reliability across the site

What You'll Bring

• Experience in a supervisory / mentor / coordinator role within maintenance
