Job description

The Mechanical Supervisor is a key role within the Maintenance team, responsible for supporting the safe operation of assets, plant productivity, and reliability. As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will:

Report directly to the Maintenance Manager and oversee Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Mechanical Shift Maintenance Technicians.

This role is essential for maintaining site safety standards, ensuring compliance with site and industry regulations, and supporting operations to meet quality standards such as ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, and cGMP, including cross-contamination prevention.

Responsibilities include managing all mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and timely, and collaborating with the Planning & Scheduling team and Site Engineers to enhance plant reliability.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Maintain Health, Safety, and Environmental standards during all work activities.
  • Manage the Mechanical Maintenance team, including work allocation and supervision.
  • Review and issue work packs, ensuring RAMS are adequate.
  • Track work progress and communicate updates to relevant parties.
  • Handle priority work from defect identification to completion, including raising PRs and organizing resources.
  • Ensure documentation and closure of work orders in the CMMS system.
  • Manage team timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary matters, and deputies.
  • Coordinate with the Maintenance Planner to develop job packs, RAMS, and schedules.
  • Contribute to Root Cause Analyses and follow-up actions to improve equipment performance.
  • Provide first-line problem solving for mechanical faults and work issues.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities, including raising and executing PMs.
SHEQ
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health & Safety requirements during maintenance.
  • Promote a safety-first culture within the team.
  • Ensure work is performed safely and according to company guidelines.
  • Report accidents, near misses, and safety improvements.
Equipment Management
  • Ensure timely completion of PMs, compliance, and regulatory work orders.
  • Supervise Maintenance Mechanical Technicians, prioritizing work according to site needs.
  • Support projects and changeovers as required.
  • Coordinate with OEM contractors for inspections and future maintenance planning.
