Mears Group PLC is seeking a General Operative to join our Repairs and Maintenance team in Holt. This hands-on role mixes practical tasks with customer service and teamwork to keep our properties in top condition.

You will install fixtures, carry out painting, fix plumbing issues, change lights, support cleaning, and contribute to safety and cost control while delivering a professional service to residents.

The position is permanent, full-time, 42.5 hours per week, with a salary up to £30,000.

Responsibilities

• Install fixtures such as curtains, blinds and door handles
• Carry out painting and decorating tasks
• Fix leaking waste pipes and perform minor plumbing repairs
• Replace light bulbs and check smoke alarms
• Support cleaning and waste collection duties (training provided)
• Work collaboratively within the Repairs and Maintenance team
• Deliver excellent customer service across all tasks
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents
• Make decisions and solve problems independently when needed
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and cost control
