Job summary

British Airways is seeking a Planning Team Leader to join the Operational Maintenance Planning management team. You will lead a team of Planning Engineers, delivering balanced, cost-effective maintenance plans while ensuring fleet compliance and safe operations.

The role requires strong leadership, planning expertise, and the ability to coordinate across engineering functions. This position includes day and night shifts and offers opportunities for career progression within a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of the British Airways operation.
• Working knowledge of EASA Part-M and Part-145 regulations.
• Detailed knowledge of aircraft maintenance planning principles.
• Detailed knowledge of BA IT systems including SAP.
• Working knowledge of Integrated Operations Control Centres and Tactical Planning process.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for maintenance planning, maintaining compliance, driving productivity and returning aircraft to service within agreed targets.
• Coordinate ADD / Op Def clearance across Engineering and monitor to drive success.
• Create a working environment that empowers and develops the team.
• Report, present and communicate performance to senior stakeholders and suggest actions.
• Manage key suppliers to ensure delivery within plan and cost constraints.
• Coordinate with Engineering to maximise downtime opportunities and ensure efficient planning.
• Interface with Global Operations and Tactical Planning to align objectives and processes.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, policies and regulatory requirements.
