Job summary

British Steel in Scunthorpe is recruiting for an Engineering Planner to lead maintenance planning activities across rolling stock, engines and workshop infrastructure. You will manage maintenance plans through SAP, prioritising work and ensuring safe, timely completion to support asset reliability.

The role requires strong organisation, coordination and communication with engineers, managers and contractors.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance planning within heavy industry or rail environments.
• Proficient with maintenance management systems (preferably SAP).
• Strong planning, prioritisation and coordination capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of maintenance plans for rolling stock, engines and workshop infrastructure.
• Allocate P1 and P2 work activities and manage SHE-critical tasks.
• Oversee contractor activities and ensure compliance with company standards.
• Drive continuous improvement in maintenance strategies and asset reliability.
