Job summary

Nuclear Inst is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner for our Capenhurst site within the Engineering department. The role involves planning maintenance across the UF6 deconversion facility, including shutdowns, with a focus on safe, efficient execution and robust documentation.

You will work with Engineering, Operations, SHE, suppliers, and external contractors to create clear plans, risk assessments, and written schemes of maintenance, ensuring readiness ahead of scheduled work.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship or equivalent engineering qualification.
• Experience in mechanical or CE&I within chemical/process industries.
• Knowledge of maintenance processes and safety.
• Experience planning with CMMS/SAP.
• Ability to produce job plans, risk assessments and method statements.
• Experience scheduling maintenance/projects with planning software.

Responsibilities

• Plan maintenance across the plant, including shutdowns and turnarounds.
• Visit site to define scope, resources, materials, timescales and work methods.
• Produce risk assessments, method statements and Written Schemes of Maintenance.
• Ensure tasks contain clear instructions, drawings, manuals and resources.
• Plan and prioritise routine, urgent and emergent work using SAP/CMMS.
• Maintain SAP asset data, equipment records and BOMs.
• Support major plant shutdowns with contractor resources and materials.
• Provide progress updates during shutdown activities and resolve issues.
