Job summary

TXM Recruit is looking for a Maintenance Operative to join an in-house supermarket maintenance team on a 12-week temp to perm scheme. The role is based in Bedford, with autonomous working and planned maintenance across several stores.

Typical duties include reactive maintenance across toilets, shop floor and communal areas, lightbulbs, taps, doors, shelves, plastering, painting and basic carpentry. Overtime is 1.5x, weekends on a 1-in-4 rotation, and you will receive a company van, tools and

Qualifications

• Experience in building maintenance or reactive maintenance preferred.
• Ability to perform minor carpentry, plumbing and painting tasks.
• Willingness to work flexibly including occasional weekends and overtime.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance across stores, including toilets, shop floor and communal areas.
• Perform tasks such as replacing lightbulbs, taps, toilet seats, doors, shelving and plastering when required.
• Support Legionella, fire alarm testing and sprinkler checks; training provided.
