Job summary

Gravity Recruit is seeking a Maintenance Operative in North London to provide high-quality maintenance and repair services for stores. The role requires multi-tasking, safety-conscious work, and the ability to work largely unsupervised in a busy retail environment.

Ideal candidates will have plumbing experience, strong DIY skills, and a full clean driving licence. The role includes tasks across plumbing, painting, metalwork, and electrical duties, with a focus on quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar maintenance role.
• Qualifications in a related field are desirable.
• Full clean driving licence required.
• Understanding of basic safety rules when using tools and PPE.
• Fluent knowledge of safe use of ladders and solvents.
• Ability to carry out pre-use safety inspections.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing tasks including leaks, taps, and blockages.
• Paint and touch up office/storage areas and trolleys/bollards.
• Repair storage units and door hardware; replace locks and signs.
• Change lamps and starters in storage and office areas.
• Carry out other tasks as assigned by Line Manager or Head of Department.
